25 things to do this Christmas Time with a Toddler

Christmas Is Coming...

These are my 25 Things I would like to do this Christmas Time with MeMe. I have been thinking of putting these ideas on to a piece of paper and then putting them into a wooden Advent Calendar, with drawers. Everyday she could open up a drawer and that would be the activity we did that day.

I am going to do a Blog about my favourite Advent Calendars, the ones that are a bit different to the normal kind, that you can get at supermarkets, with chocolate inside. So keep an eye out for that.

Hope you are having a lovely day, and are starting to feel festive, like I am.

Autumn Walks

Autumn is very much here; it's getting darker a lot earlier, and it's starting to get colder. So, if you are anything like me, you will be starting to scratch your head as to what to do with a very active toddler. She doesn't understand why she used to be able play outside all day long in the summer, and now she can't as much. What I love to do with MeMe, and what she loves to do as well, is to go for a nice long walk, with Tilly, our dog. It's good exercise for me and fresh air for her.

My husbands mother, Aka 'Grannie' bought MeMe a Smart trike for her Birthday, and we have used it so much, it's brilliant! They are so easy to push around, and light too, plus MeMe LOVES sitting in it, and holding on to the handles. She is just a little too young to be able to use the pedals, but it won't be long until I'm chasing her down the street after her!

Where we live, we have a lot of walks around us perfect for pushing prams or the trike. Whilst on a walk, we decided to go into a  field where we could throw a ball for Tilly and MeMe could run around. We  found some puddles for her splash around in, in her wellies, (Peppa Pig ones of course!) as you can see from the pictures she is very much enjoying herself. MeMe loves throwing the ball for Tilly, but she can't throw it very far, and Tilly just looks at MeMe, then at the ball, as in to say "Is that it?" It's so lovely seeing how well they get on; they love each other so much.

What do you get up to, now the days are shorter days? I'd love to know so please leave a comment below, also If you enjoy reading my blogs, please feel free to follow :)
I hope you are having a lovely day.

First Time Baking With MeMe..

Today MeMe and I decided to bake cupcakes. I had no idea how it would go, I thought she might not show any interest, or want to put her hands in all the mixture then put it in her hair, which is what she loves doing with her tea. I decided to not make it complicated by doing it all from scratch, as I knew she would loose interest quickly, especially when its been ages since I have baked anything, so I wanted a nice and easy challenge.

I bought a Peppa Pig Cupcake Kit from Sainsburys, I think it was about one pound something. In the pack you get the cupcake cases, the cake mixture already made, chocolate icing sugar and some little Peppa Pig decorations to put on top. All you need is one egg and a little bit of water- fool proof!

It's so quick and easy that MeMe didn't loose interest and really enjoyed helping me Woohoo, it worked! She helped put the bun cases on the oven tray, helped with whisking the mixture (although she was trying her best to get the whisk in her mouth) and then loved decorating them. It such a good feeling trying new things, and seeing her really taking it all in, and enjoying herself.

I think our first time at baking was a success. I'm definitely going to get some more of these packs to have in the cupboard for a rainy day. Personally I don't know who enjoyed it more- Me or Melissa hehe! Great British Bake Off here we come!

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I hope you enjoyed it.
Please comment below, if you have tried baking with your little ones, or if you know of something I should try.

Happy Halloween!!

Just a quick post today....

Today is Halloween, but unfortunately I have a poorly girl! So we are going to give trick or treating a miss this year, luckily she is still too young to understand what Halloween is, otherwise I would have one very upset little girl. She has enjoyed dressing up around the house as a Pumpkin though. We will probably end up doing a little trick or treat by going round to see her Nanna & Grannie,
if she is up to it tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a brilliant Halloween!

Perfect Winter Coats for Busy Mummies

When Winter came last year, I went to grab my winter coat, and then suddenly realised that it was no longer practical when you had so many things to carry, and a pram to push. I was well and truly caught out when it started raining one day. I was trying to push the pram whilst attempting to hold an umbrella- well you can imagine how that went, the umbrella was lucky to be coming home with me! Then I had an "I'm all grown up, and I'm a mummy moment." I looked down in the pram and saw MeMe all cosy and warm in her pram, with the rain hood on, whilst I was freezing cold and getting wetter by the minute. Then suddenly appreciating all the things my mum did for me, that I hadn't even thought about until having a child of my own. So yeah, I needed a new coat, and I quickly learnt that a hood was the way forward! I bought a Ted Baker lightweight coat. I thought it was a bit on the expensive side, I think it was about £150, but I certainly got my moneys worth. I'm sure everyone is sick of seeing me in it; I've never had it off, and I'm still wearing it now. Money well spent; I think!

I'm now on the hunt this year, for a slightly warmer one, as I have no idea how I wore it last year when it got so cold?!

Zara Long Down Anorak In Black £109

I LOVE this one from Zara!! In fact, I think I may have to purchase this one!? I love the fur hooded coats this year, and it's a good job, because they are everywhere. I think its the gold zip that sets it off, and it's a very safe coat that you can just put over the top of anything; jeans, black pants or a dress. It's a nice length too; I'm not very tall, so anything longer would drown me and make me look even smaller.

Vero Moda Parka £48.

Via Spiga Black coat

I hope you like the jackets I've chosen. Have you been searching for a winter coat? Let me know if you know of a good place to buy nice winter jackets from.

Hope you're having a lovely day!

Peppa Pig No No!

Today, we went to see Peppa Pig, and I think I was more excited than MeMe. She has just started to watch the programmes and enjoy them, so I thought she would like meeting her.. Oh No! I was totally wrong... She took one long look at her and then started shaking her head. (which is her new favourite thing to do at the minute) So as you can tell from the photograph, I am fleeing from Peppa Pig before she starts crying. From afar though, she enjoyed looking at her and was happily pointing and talking away.
Once we got home, we went for a little walk into the village where I live. I wanted to get some more teething granules because the poor baby is getting a few teeth coming through at the minute. She was up most of the night last night, and last night I had run out- Nightmare! So today I got stocked up on the Nelson's teething granules. If you haven't tried them with your little one, then I highly recommend them! So fingers crossed; they might help her through the night tonight.

Here's a Picture of them;

About Mummy & MeMe

So this is me, and my little Melissa, Aka 'MeMe.'
This Picture pretty much sums up our relationship, full of laughter and silliness!

Melissa came into our world on June 1st 2013, at a whopping 9lbs 1oz (yes Ouch!) and life hasn't been the same since (in a good way, of course!)
At nearly 17 Months old, her character is starting to really shine through, she makes me laugh every single day. She is at the age now, where she is into absolutely everything; climbing, opening cupboards & drawers, pressing any button she can find & basically getting into mischief wherever possible. So as you can imagine, my house is a tip, but it is to be expected I suppose, and I sleep well at night!
If looking after a toddler isn't challenging enough, we (my husband & I) also have a very daft but totally adorable Cocker Spaniel called Tilly and two Ragdoll Cats, called Jinx & Zeco, so it's a mad house, but  I wouldn't have it any other way.

So that's just a little bit about my family, I hope you enjoyed reading it.

I hope you're having a lovely day!

Sarah
